The work to upgrade local area networks at the Bruzgi and Berestovitsa checkpoints at the Belarusian-Polish border is in the homestretch, BelTA learned from the Grodno Regional Customs Office.
The upgrade was financed by international technical aid, the main beneficiary of which was the Grodno Regional Customs Office.
“Construction and installation works have been finished. Setup operations are underway now,” the customs office informed. The upgrade project provides for installing cutting-edge server hardware and network attached storages, installation of fiber-optic cable, replacement of computers. This is designed to enhance information security and to better protect personal data of people crossing the border.
The project to improve border management operations at the Brugzi and Berestovitsa checkpoints is implemented as part of the Cross-Border Cooperation Program Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020. The European Union's contribution made up about €1 million.
